Dolores Clara Smith ( nee Clark), 76, a longtime resident of Baltimore, died of complications of Alzheimer’s Disease after a 2 year illness, at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore.
She was born on May 16, 1936 in Annapolis, where she was raised.
Dolores worked in restaurants at Kmart and the U.S. Naval Academy. She loved animals, especially pot belly pigs, and enjoyed watching soap operas, and playing the lottery.
Dolores was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Francis Spasaro and her second husband, Benjamin “Popeye” Whittington.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Hugh Smith of Baltimore; four sons, Joe Spasaro of Arnold, Fred Spasaro of Glen Burnie, John Spasaro and James Spasaro , both of Baltimore; step daughter, Mary Ann Spasaro of West Palm Beach, FL; brother, Wesley Clark and sister, Frances Locklair, both of Cape St. Claire; one granddaughter, Kimberly; and one step grandson, Connor.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
